The eSTRlinx Data Transporter is the core eSTRlinx module. It automatically updates both the relational database on the Web Store server as well as the legacy Merchandising System database. The crucial information maintained by the Data Transporter includes available inventory and replenishment, current retail price as well as sales and item movement statistics. The Transporter can be scheduled to run on a daily basis or it can be executed on demand, providing flexibility in accommodating immediate pricing and inventory changes. The Transporter helps ensure that the Web Store maintains the correct product pricing, and that customers visiting your Web store don't unknowingly order merchandise that is out of stock. The Transporter also greatly reduces the workload involved in maintaining and administering two disparate databases by reconciling the information that changes on a daily basis and automatically updating the Web store RDB when data is modified in the Merchandising System.
