THE NETTECH GROUP CREATES REPORT ARCHIVE SOFTWARE

San Mateo, CA (April 20, 1997) - The NetTech Group, Inc., a leading provider of Retail Systems / Internet Consulting Services, announced today that it has developed a report archiving system, RPTarc(tm), that will help retailers and businesses in other industries reduce the amount of paper being printed and help support the move towards a paperless environment.

According to Todd McNeil, the project manager for RPTarc(tm), "the software was designed to meet the needs of so many retail systems people that have complained to me about the amount of paper they waste and the difficulty, not to mention the cost of storing, printed reports."

The software allows all printed reports to be sent to the RPTarc(tm) server, where they are queued up to be tagged and archived. The software automatically assigns a title based on the report header data. The graphical user interface (GUI) allows the user to highlight a specific report and view the contents so they have a high level of comfort with the automated tagging. The report name, the report description, the first 1000 characters of the report and a number of other important attributes are kept in a relational database. The entire report is then compressed and archived on the server.

RPTarc(tm)'s GUI is intuitive and user friendly. The server runs on Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT.

With the ability of storing and managing critical reports, the costly situations where they are lost and misplaced can be avoided. It is truly a very beneficial utility that will allow businesses to save on paper expenses, ensure the safe and reliable storage of the information and have the ability to make these reports available on demand.
